Wittewater is 19km west of Piketberg in the Bergrivier sub-region.

Wittewater is situated near Piketberg and access is via the R399. The village is known for its simple thatched-roof houses built for the Moravian Missionaries who could not stay at Goedverwacht, as the land was owned by six descendants of a slave named Maniesa, who had inherited the land from Hendrik Schalk Burger.
